Not your average flower shop
Locally grown is our thing and that means peonies in June, dahlias in September, and dried flowers in the winter. We do weddings and special events. We offer some delivery and pick up options in the summer. We don’t have regular shop hours but we do like to host the occasional pop-up or have some opening hours around holidays. We don’t have a phone number because we don’t like answering it. We don’t offer roses for Valentines day. We don’t do those heart shaped funeral sprays. We don’t really want to get involved in prom. There, I said it! We are not for everyone and we are ok with that.
Environmental sustainability is one of the main reasons that we do what we do over here. About 80% of the flowers sold in this country are imported. Most them come wrapped in plastic sleeves. That’s a lot of fossil fuels. We can do better!
Who is this “we”
I am Emily (over there in the blue) and I own and operate Wood Violet. I am a tree hugger and a flower lover. I started a small flower farm quite a few years back. Then one thing led to another, and I opened up this flower shop sort of thing. And then this flower shop thing led to yet another thing! A bigger, better, way more amazing flower farm. That's right, I grow a lot of my own flowers over at Fernabelle Acres.
I don’t even pretend that I do it all by myself. I have friends, family, and employees all over the place helping me in all aspects of this flower filled life.
We believe in peace, love, and equality for e.v.e.r.y.o.n.e. That’s who we are.
